Using the XDCC Bot in our IRC channel

To provide the ones of you being on IRC with a further download possibility we added a XDCC Bot into our channel that contains our releases.

Note: The Bot in our channel does NOT offer RAWs for download, you have to get the RAWs here on our site or at MangaHelpers site/IRC.

That being said, let us get started …

First of all you have to get onto IRC, of course.

*You need a IRC client like mIRC or ChatZilla installed – Google it!

Once you are in the channel, the first thing you want to do is to request the packlist from the bot (hopefully we’ll get a nice “Hey” first).

Simply issue …

/msg Lostsouls xdcc send list

The bot will then send you a text-file containing a listing of the stored packs.

Open this text-file in your text editor/viewer and find the file you want to download. Look up the number printed in that line on the left … that’s the pack number. To get this pack, which is the ZIP file, issue …

/msg Lostsouls xdcc send #
*Substitute “#” with the actual number

The bot will then send you the file you requested.

Note that the bot has a queuing system – it may take a moment until your request is being processed if other users are also downloading. You will be notified by the bot upon your request and every 5 minutes.

You also need to meet a MINIMAL transfer speed of 10KB/s – if you cannot sustain this minimum speed the bot will interrupt your download and clear your requests from the queue. The maximum speed is capped at 50KB/s and you can only have one download at a time running (though up to 10 requests in the queue).
