As you may or may not have noticed (seriously, nobody seems to notice my constant pleas for more cleaners, so I’m being realistic here), we’ve got a new portal for our IRC file distribution. It’s very similar to the one used by Raw Distro for their site, so those of you who frequent that will recognize it. It’s a pretty simple interface.
Search out what you want from the bot and it’ll display the files for you. If you click the highlighted line of the listing or search results, it’ll display the command that you need to punch, or copy/paste, into your IRC client to get the files in our channel.
But I have to stress this because I’ve dealt with far too much jackassery this past week: YOU ACTUALLY NEED AN IRC CLIENT! Seriously, guys, webchat just won’t cut it because it’s not set up to receive files. You’ll have to do that yourself.
You’ve been warned. Anyone who asks us to hold their hands through the process will have that hand removed and fed to them for my amusement.
I know it might not be the best idea to post this in English, but to my great sorrow it is the only foreign language I am able to talk … maybe some kind soul wants to post me a Spanish translation of the article or spread word …
Since Lsshin thought it would be a good idea to start a Spanish version of the weekly chapters (right before slacking off into vacation), and also to translate the other stuff we have around, we need staff to care about the Spanish translation. IF we want to do this we need to get serious about it. This means … we need some staff that wants to help out and enjoy that there’s a working infrastructure …
In case you want to lend a helping hand in cleaning … be welcome to do so … the more helping hands, the quicker the job gets done. See the “Join Us” page on how to apply as a cleaner.
Anyway … if you want to help in creating a Spanish scanlation of our releases contact us by PM on the Forum or on IRC (you don’t even need a IRC client installed on your computer, simply use the “WebIRC” link in the navigation bar).
Thanks for your attention,

Before we head into the story about the ‘History of Ju-Ni’ let me tell you why I am posting this, as it is a follow-up to Vic’s MH Interview article…

And Storm, how about an article about Ju-Ni history? I’m sure I’m not the only one who would want to find out more!
So, let us look back into the dark ages to discover how and why all of this started off, and also to remind myself that I didn’t have any kind of private life for quite a few years to come.
To quote Vic: To find out how the group started, you’d have to stop by the IRC channel and ask Storm for a history lesson. It was his baby for the longest time. I’ve been told the history several times, but it seems like that’s one of those things that’s just in one ear and out the other. Well then, let me tell you the story in my own, unique way (if someone feels like complaining feel free to contact me by PM or on IRC)…
MH Interviews: Ju-Ni

Today we’ve got an interview with Vicissitude of Ju-Ni. Ju-Ni do a pretty bang up job working on Bleach every week and Vicissitude himself also does some scanning series from Shonen Jump and Young Magazine. There’s some good stuff here so make sure you read it.

As it seems we had a little problem with the on-site downloads we really weren’t aware about. That problem related to the download breaking up at around 32MB transferred size when the file in question was larger than 32MB.
This problem mainly relates to the somewhat crappy service of the hoster but has now been fixed … even the largest file around (~180MB) does now download correctly.
The sole thanks for the problem solution go to Jarnar who changed some internal functions of the download manager to make it happen, and now your browser also gets the filesize of the file reported (yet another thing the original author of the download manager did not include).
We are sorry that this slipped our attention so far.

Remember, folks. This is Golden Week in Japan. For those of you who don’t know what this… Consult Wikipedia. I’m not your personal researcher. :p
Regardless, there is no Shounen Jump this week, so that means no Bleach or any other Jump series. That means that the Ju-Ni staff can get a well-deserved rest, our first since sometime around New Year’s.
Of course, more cleaners would help to alleviate the already heavy workload.
Well, after the incredible job you did around here it’s our pleasure to wish you a …
One year older, and hopefully, also one year wiser.
Everyone who also likes to express some nice birthday wishes to Jarnar is welcome to drop a comment for him.
Welcome to our new frontpage, which is now based on a more lightweight blogging system. As you can see the appearance does not differ that much from the old one – Jarnar did a incredible great job to code up, and extend, a customized theme to have the site in the well-known look. We are aware that some content is now missing, but we are working on the task to restore all downloads, galleries and articles; it just takes some time to get everything back.
Unfortunately you have to register your (frontpage) user account anew, there was no way to migrate the user accounts that already existed. We’re sorry for that inconvenience.
Edit by Storm: As there are some complaints about account registration issues / download issues in the shoutbox all over again … see the FAQs for more information about how to register an account and downloads.
As posted on the old site, we also updated our forum. For the time being the user accounts cannot be synced with the forum. This means that you have to register an account there if you want to post. All the forum accounts that already existed before the upgrade are still there.
If you want to leave us some feedback feel free to drop a comment, otherwise enjoy your stay and have a good time.
